DrinkMaker3000
In February of my senior year, my friends and I saw a Kickstarter project selling an automated drink mixing robot for $2500. We decided to make one for less than $100
And on top of the ridiculous price tag, it was huge and ugly! I don't know who the 486 backers were that wanted this on their counter.
And the idea was born! We started with some sketches.
One of the problems we ran into was keeping all of the hoses together above a cup. Well, with a few classes of AutoCAD under my belt and access to a 3D printer, I happily stepped up to the challenge.
Five holes taper to a small opening to allow for more delicate control of the alcohols, while the large holes are for the mixers. I'm proud to say the nozzle fit perfectly on the first printing, and I made another mount to bundle the tubes more neatly.
We put removable legs underneath it so the entire thing (with drinks) is still very portable. The servos that dispense the liquid are very low power, so it can run on a 9v battery pack.
And a bonus video of us testing the recipes because you scrolled so far.
